Hey everyone. Glad to be back with another update! I will update next mid-race or right after its over, so wish me luck!
Thank you to all donors! There’s still time to make a difference in cancer research and treatment!
The Pan-Mass challenge bike ride supports Dana-Farber, the leading institute for cancer research and treatment. If you donate to my ride, you’ll be helping us work toward a world without cancer
I’ve been recording a few videos to let everyone in on my life and training. Check it out!
It’s been a busy few weeks! Here’s an overview of my training and life updates
Fundraising
As you can see in the video, I have tried to scrap together some funds from a Rice Krispy treat bake sale! It wasn’t the most successful endeavor, but it was such an empowering experience to try to show complete strangers why they should support such a great cause. I have learned a lot for next time, though I think the setup was pretty great!

Life
My better half is gone
With Kayla finishing her fellowship, she stayed back in Michigan after the 4th of July to get some must needed time to spend with her family and prepare for her next role. This meant I was all alone in New York in our new apartment attempting to coax some sense of organization and decor into the space. I quickly gave up and settled for setting up some voice-controlled light switches. Fortunately she comes back on July 30th. My life (and our plants) will soon get much better.
More weddings! (and horrible flight conditions)
That’s not to say I didn’t see Kayla at all in this time. I headed back to Grand Rapids for a quick wedding trip and had the chance to meet a bunch of her college friends. The wedding was amazing, but that’s not to say the trip wasn’t without it’s less exciting aspects. I ended up with 3 flights being cancelled and the flights I did get were delayed by hours. But given what I saw when I got home, I am just glad I made it.
Sunday funday
Got the chance to checkout a fun venue on Sunday called Nowadays a bit outside Manhattan for an event called “Mister Sunday”. It was a great vibe with amazing music, food trucks, and friends. Hopefully will be going back soon!
See you during after the race! I can’t wait!
